                          your leak questions answered............

WHAT CAUSES PIPES TO LEAK?

Leaks happen for lots of different reasons, it could be that underground pipes are old or they have been damaged. Sometimes, arctic weather can freeze and crack pipes. Also, improper installation is often a problem.

WHY DOESN'T THE UTILTY KNOW WHERE ALL THE LEAKS ARE?

Underground pipes can leak and burst anywhere and even though we are doing all we can to prevent leaks and to repair them quickly, they can be difficult to locate, so we really appreciate your extra help.

WHEN IS A LEAK NOT A LEAK?

It's usually simple to identify a leak, it's often clear water which can be trickling or gushing from the ground. Water lying over a drain after it's been raining heavily, probably is not a leak. However, if you are not sure, let us know about it.

WHAT KIND OF WATER PRESSURE SHOULD I EXPECT?

When you turn your tap on, you can except your water pressure to have a enough force and volume to fill a glass or kettle, for example. We are required by the State of Tennessee to provide customers 20 psi at the water meter. If you feel there is a problem with the water pressure at your home please contact us.
